A finding: the seaside town Jaywick Sands located two hours from London.

The online articles, showcasing the level of poverty of this town. The reactions of the community feeling they have been dehumanised, only seen as ashamed collectors of benefits.

A first trip to Jaywick is the assumption from the newspapers that scarcity has made these people repellent to any sort of discussion on technologies. A meeting between Jaywick community and Philip Alston, United Nations envoy. The confrontation - a community in need of government responses and an attempt to reach them to get things better.

P.Alston during the meeting “If you want things to get better, don’t wait for the government to help you”.

Realising the direction this project should aim to: not reaching the government to get things done; making things happen within the community.
